If you are stamping out one image to make a card with, stamp several of the same image out and keep for future cards - saves time in the future, smiles W
I haven't instituted this tip yet but I'd like to. I want to get a holder that has at least 26ish little compartments to hold my die cut letters or chipboard letters in each compartment divided by letters.
NESTABILITIE STORAGE:I buy magnetic vent covers (the size of the vents that would be in the floor) for $2.96 for a package of 2 at Wal Mart and put 2 set of nestablities on them. they stick together like a book and it is the best thing yet i have found
I hate having to use ribbon that is all bent from being wrapped. So, I hange my ribbon on a ring, and hang the ring on my board. Then, it's decorative, and my ribbon is handy and straight.
I find that the foam pad in my cats eye chalk ink sometimes separate from the plastic it is adhered to, mostly I just replace it, but in a pinch I will hold onto the pad with a clothespin. That way I can still use it and my fingers don't get inky.
Rough up your new clear acrylic stamps with a pink eraser before using them the first time. The ink won't pool on the stamp and you'll have an image that is more crisp.
My tip is to colour the edges of chipboard shapes with a coordinating marker to make them your own. You can also dye the chipboard using a stamp pad, great way to dress up that generic kraft colour.
Hmmm...tip,tip...I got this idea from a friend...I store my punches on a curtain rod that hangs on the wall. The handle of the punch rests on the rod and the top rests against the wall.
I added a long folding table down the side of my L-shaped desk, making my craft area a U-shape now....I have all my gadgets & machines surrounding me & not jumping up & down every time I need something! Time is the MOST important thing we crafters need, so I always look for ways to have more! hehe Terri
I always have problems getting things lined up straight on my cards sometimes. I was racking my brain and here is what I came up with. I usually use it for letter stickers or diecuts. I line all the letters up on a piece of purple painter's tape and transfer them to the card. The tape comes write off after everything has been stuck down. If I am using die cuts, I apply the adhesive with a glue pen!!!
Have a little note pad with you and write down what papers, embellishments you are using as you go along because I can never remember it all afterwards!
My fave tip is to use talcum powder instead of buying anti static pads, just pour some into a cotton hanky or bit of old shirt and tie top with elastic band. works perfectly and smells nicer :-) Lorraine
A simple tip is to always wash my hands before I start crafting with paper. If there's the slightest bit of dirt on my fingers, it will always show up on the prettiest item I make! :( Cathy
My tip is to tape a plastic shopping bag to the end of my cutting table for easily sweeping away tiny scraps. When the bag is full, simply untape and grab another for more fun!
My tip is that I use an SU marker to flatten out brads...I don't like it when they're "buckled" up...and sometimes it's just too hard on the fingers, but the marker works perfectly :)
I usually spend quite some time moving elements around on my card before I actually stick them on. When I plan to use stickers, I stick them individually on a piece of see-through plastic, so that I can find the best place for them on the card. Once I'm happy with my composition, or if I have to interrupt my work, I take a picture with a digital camera, which helps me remember where every item is supposed to go (since I have to take everything off the card to stick backgrounds on, do matting etc.)
My tip is for stamping sentiments - use up some scraps of card and stamp the same sentiment a few times while you have it out. You can use different coloured inks and card/paper. When done, put them into a plastic zip lock bag for when you need a sentiment in a hurry.
Whenever I stamp an image, I stamp several at the same time. That gives me images I can just pull out to color, or makes a great on-the-spot gift for a fellow stamper.
